How to Take Prohormones for the Best Results
One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that many people are confused on how to take prohormones to get the best results. I get a lot of questions like “should I take prohormones every day or just on rest days?” and ” “What time should I take my prohormones?”Of course, the simplest answer is “follow the directions on the bottle” – but I think people deserve a little more than that. Taking prohormones correctly is very important to give you the best results and also minimize the risk for side effects. Follow the basic guidelines below and you will maximize your experience with prohormones.1. Take your prohormones every day (don’t skip days). This is the first rule of prohormones and the most important one not to break. Your results on a prohormone cycle depends largely on keeping blood hormone levels consistent, and preventing a hormone roller coaster will keep estrogen (and its related side effects) in check. Another thing to understand is that hormones work relatively slowly in the body, so just taking them on workout days, for example, is not helpful at all. It’s OK to end a cycle early if you need to, just don’t stop and start again without PCT. This will most likely wreak havoc on your hormonal system and be very detrimental.2. Space your prohormones evenly. As stated above, the goal is to maintain consistent hormone levels in your blood stream, so try to space your prohormone servings evenly. If you take 2 pills a day, take them 12 hours apart. If you are using a 3 per day formula, take them 8 hours apart. If you’re off by an hour or so it shouldn’t affect much, but being very inconsistent with your timing could cause large fluctuations. It’s worth noting here that Xcel prohormones all contain Carbopol, which gives them a time-release effect. This is even better because it releases small amounts of the compounds into your system, keeping levels very consistent.3. Make up for missed doses. OK, so you screwed up and forgot your 9am dose, now its 6pm. What do you do? What I recommend is to take a serving as soon as possible, then shorten the time between doses for the next day. For example, if you normally take one at 9 am and one at 9pm, but you forgot your morning supplements, take one at 6pm and then another one at midnight. Then you can get back on your normal schedule with minimal hormone fluctuation.4. Always use good Post-Cycle Therapy. This is kind of after the fact, but an integral part of any prohormone cycle. Start your PCT the day after your prohormone cycle ends. Some compounds such as 6-Bromo can even be started a week or 2 before the end of your cycle in order to reduce the chance of estrogen rebound. The rules for PCT are about the same as prohormones – take them consistently for the full 4 weeks and don’t skip days. Take prohormones consistentlyFollow the 4 rules above and you will maximize your chances for success with your prohormone cycle. The goal is to get the best gains possible and reduce any side effects, and taking your prohormones correctly is the biggest step in accomplishing that.Still have more questions?
